Watch a complete VectorLab musculoskeletal assessment from start to finish — 80 measurements captured in 25 minutes
May 9, 2026
A full musculoskeletal assessment is one of the most valuable things a coach or physical therapist can do for a client and one of the most under-used, because doing it well with manual tools like a goniometer and an inclinometer is slow, error-prone, and difficult to compare over time.
We built VectorLab to change that. The video above is a complete end-to-end assessment, captured in real time. No cuts, no edits to the data — just the workflow as it actually runs in the field.
What you'll see
In 25 minutes, the assessment captures 80 individual measurements quantifying the range of motion of the major joints in all relevant degrees of freedom:
- Hip flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, internal and external rotation
- Shoulder flexion, extension, abduction, rotation
- Spine flexion, extension, lateral flexion, rotation
- Knee flexion, extension
- Foot/ankle dorsiflexion, inversion, eversion
Every measurement is captured objectively from the phone's sensors, logged to the client's record, and immediately available for comparison against prior sessions or population norms.
From measurements to a program — automatically
The assessment doesn't end with a data dump. As soon as the session closes, VectorLab's rule engine evaluates every measurement against the assessment logic and builds the client's corrective stretch/exercise program for you:
- A full Push / Pull / Legs split. Compound and accessory work selected based off of the quantitative data analysis — biased toward the side that needs the most work.
- Targeted stretches. Recommended for the specific joints and ranges of motion that measured restricted.
- Mobilization drills. Prescribed when the data points to a mobility rather than a flexibility limitation.
The whole process is rule-driven, which means two coaches running the same assessment on the same client get the same plan.
Why this matters
Manual assessment of this scope takes a trained coach 60 to 120 minutes — and the data usually lives on a paper form that no one reads again. The program that follows is time cumbersome to create, time consuming, and prone to human error.
With VectorLab, the same assessment is performed in 25 minutes with structured, comparable data. Getting an immediate program upon completion changes what's possible:
- Reassess often. When measurement is fast, you can re-baseline every 4 to 6 weeks and actually measure the effectiveness of your training method.
- Spot asymmetries early. Side-to-side differences and loss of motion are visible the moment the data lands.
- Standardize across a team. Every coach in the same gym or clinic delivers the same quality of assessment and the same caliber of program, because the biomechanical logic, not the individual, drives the output.
- Show progress to clients. A trend chart and a program that visibly evolves with the data is more motivating than "you feel better, right?"
The value of VectorLab is giving the clinician or coach more complete and accurate data to work with faster than they could collect it any other way.
